Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor says the club need a stronger squad for the forthcoming season.
After a third consecutive pre-season defeat by Bayer Leverkusen, the Scotland keeper says there is an urgent need for fresh signings at Ibrox.
"I think we have seen how much we need to get the right people in and pretty sharpish at that," he told the Rangers website.
"We are still hopeful things will come together."
The club have been linked with former striker Kenny Miller who has held talks with his current club Bursapor with a view to returning to Ibrox for a third spell.
Manager Ally McCoist is also targeting Espanyol defender Raul Rodriguez.
"I know the manager has been working really hard to get in the guys he feels he needs since he got the job," McGregor added.
"We have done a lot of good work behind the scenes and while training has been hard, that is what we have needed."
The loss to Bayer Leverkeusen came after friendly defeats by Lotte and Bochum on the club's pre-season tour of Germany, but McGregor says the players are giving their all for McCoist.
"Our whole team played 90 minutes tonight and although we had subs to bring on, they were young and we need to get some new signings into the club," he said, after the 2-0 defeat.
"It has been difficult in the sort of climate he is working in, where some guys can maybe earn more money in the Championship than the SPL nowadays.
"But I think it would give us all a lift if we were able to push one or two things through and hopefully that can happen."
Rangers open their Scottish Premier League campaign against Hearts on 23 July.
